Torrey Pines (3-6-1) vs. Carlsbad (5-5) at El Camino High: RBs Robert Murray and Brock Ringo lead the Falcons. Lancers have beaten St. Augustine, Vista and Mission Hills. (TV: Time Warner 19, midnight)

 Winner plays at (4) Chula Vista (7-3) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

El Camino (3-7) at Mission Hills (6-3-1): Teams are going in opposite directions. Wildcats have won three of past four. Grizzlies, who opened the season 4-0, look to quarterback DJ Zapata to make the difference.

 Winner plays at (3) Poway (7-3) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

Fallbrook (4-6) at Mira Mesa (6-4): Damian Williams can break loose at any time and southpaw QB Kevin Ozier is a solid passing threat for the Marauders. Warriors hope to wing it on the arm of QB Michael Welsh.

DIVISION II

Mt. Carmel (4-6) at Lincoln (5-5): Hornets watched a 5-0 start dissolve into a .500 record. Defense has been an issue. QB Ronnie Yell calls the shots for Lincoln. Reggie Noble anchors a stubborn Mt. Carmel defense.

 Winner plays at (1) Oceanside (9-0-1) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

Hoover (5-5) at Westview (8-2): Senior RB Deontray Johnson carries Cardinals' playoff hopes. Wolverines, who started with five straight wins, rely on the passing of Tommy Hansen and the receiving of Stephen Sousa.

 Winner plays at (4) Scripps Ranch (7-3) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

Grossmont (4-6) vs. Bonita Vista (6-4) at Southwestern College: Barons lost four of five after a 5-0 start. Could become a shootout between QBs Tyler Mutter of Grossmont and Hector Castellanos of Bonita Vista.

 Winner plays at (3) Helix (8-1-1) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

West Hills (4-6) at Patrick Henry (6-4): Last time Patriots finished with a winning record was 1999. Wolf Pack is in the playoffs for the 16th consecutive season. Patrick Henry won regular-season meeting 24-12.

 Winner plays at (2) Eastlake (8-2) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

DIVISION III

Point Loma (5-4-1) at Castle Park (7-3): South Bay League champion Trojans, who have won six straight, count on QB Richard Cooper. The Pointers'talented junior RB Leslie Rogers has scored 19 touchdowns.

 Winner plays at (1) Cathedral Catholic (10-0) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

Brawley (5-5) at El Capitan (7-3): QB Tanner Rust is the main man for Vaqueros, winners of six of their last seven. Season has been a struggle for Wildcats, who lost 16-13 to Central in game for Imperial Valley League title.

 Winner plays (4) St. Augustine (6-4) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28 at Southwestern.

Monte Vista (5-5) at Serra (7-3): Might be the best game of the opening round. Monarchs prefer to run the ball with Nick Williams and Jarrod Scott. QB Arthur Stewart leads a potent passing game for Q's.

 Winner plays at (3) Valhalla (9-1) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

Steele Canyon (5-5) at Central (9-1): Cougars open playoffs in the desert for third time in six years. RB Alex Perlin leads Steele Canyon offense. QB Jonathon Adams spearheads Spartans attack.

 Winner plays at (2) Ramona (8-1-1) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

DIVISION IV

Quarterfinal: Imperial (9-1) at (1) Valley Center (8-2), 7, Nov. 28.

Quarterfinal: Coronado (8-2) at (4) Santa Fe Christian (6-4), 7, Nov. 28.

Quarterfinal: Mission Bay (5-4-1) at (3) Mater Dei (5-5), 7, Nov. 28.

Quarterfinal: La Jolla (4-6) at (2) Madison (10-0), 7, Nov. 28.

DIVISION V

Tri-City Chr. (5-4-1) vs. Calvin Chr. (8-1) at Escondido High: Eagles slid into playoffs, finishing 1-3-1. Crusaders ready to start over after being denied Southern League championship on last-minute field goal.

 Winner plays at (1) Francis Parker (9-1) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

Mountain Empire (3-7) at La Jolla Country Day (7-3): Redhawks'victories came against teams with a combined 5-15 record. RB Montell Allen and QB Derek Hatfield lead the Torreys. (Web: KBCsports.com)

 Winner plays (4) Army-Navy (8-2) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

Julian (7-3) vs. Bishop's (4-6) at La Jolla High: Multitalented Dakota Savage leads Eagles. Knights, who stumbled to the finish line with four straight losses, are counting on freshman QB Joey Moreno.

 Winner plays (3) Horizon (5-4-1) at 7 p.m. Nov. 28.

Holtville (5-5) vs. Foothills Christian (9-1) at Junior Seau Park: Vikings have won four of their last five. Knights want more after winning their first league championship in three seasons of 11-man football.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Michael Welsh, QB, Fallbrook: Has passed for 1,545 yards and 14 TDs.

Christian Fonseca, RB, West Hills: 1,454 all-purpose yards, 78 points.

Juan Leary, QB, Otay Ranch: Leads Mustangs in rushing and passing.

Deontray Johnson, RB, Hoover: 18 rushing touchdowns for Cardinals.


IN THE NEWS

College plans: Madison running back Robbie Rouse, whose team has a bye this week, said he has accepted a scholarship offer to Fresno State. Rouse has rushed for 1,832 yards and 26 touchdowns this season.

Top QBs: Scripps Ranch's Robert Forcier is in the running for the Joe Montana High School Quarterback of the Year Award, presented by DeBartolo Sports University. Forcier has passed for 2,990 yards and 21 TDs. More information is at debartolosportsu.com.
