RIVERSIDE – The identity of a man who was fatally wounded in a shooting near a Riverside gas station was released by the coroner Sunday.
The victim was identified as Alexandro Bega, 23, of Riverside, according to the Riverside County coroner.
The shooting was reported at 11:12 p.m. Friday, said Riverside police Sgt. Brian Kittinger. Officers were dispatched to the USA gas station at 3950 Tyler, where they found a man shot in the parking lot, Kittinger said.
It was not clear if the man was shot at the gas station or nearby.
The man was taken to Riverside Community Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, Kittinger said. He was pronounced dead at 11:42 p.m., according to the coroner.
