MURRIETA – Four Moreno Valley men were caught selling clothing stolen from Nordstrom's out of the trunk of a Honda in Murrieta, a police sergeant said.

Amir Damion Eugene Stevenson and James Henry Goodwin, both 22, and Armon Dejon Stevenson and Allen Paul Rhodes, both 19, were arrested about 6:40 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of a restaurant at 39697 Avenida Acacias, according to Murrieta police Sgt. Tony Conrad.

Police investigating the report of men selling merchandise out of a four-door Honda Civic found clothing worth more than $2,000, judging by the price tags still attached to most of the items, Conrad said.

The men had already taken in $250 in sales before police arrived, Conrad said, and those standing around buying or looking were briefly detained.

The men were booked at the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of receiving stolen property. Rhodes also was booked on suspicion of giving false identification to a police officer.

Amir Stevenson was additionally booked on suspicion of misdemeanor failure to appear, a license plate violation and driving with a suspended license, according to sheriff's jail records. He was released on $17,906 bail, pending arraignment Nov. 4.

The others remained jailed in lieu of $5,000 each, pending arraignment Thursday.
