EL CAJON – A 22-year-old man suspected in an armed robbery spree that involved mostly convenience stores has been arrested, El Cajon police said Monday.
Officers with a search warrant took the man into custody without incident Friday at his Rancho San Diego home on Cuyamaca College Drive off Jamacha Road Friday, said El Cajon police Lt. Tim Henton.
He is accused of using a knife and later a gun to threaten employees and steal cash at five 7-11 stores, the Villa Embassadora Hotel on Main Street and at two gas stations, police said.
The thefts stared July 11 and the last one was committed Sept. 11, police said.
The suspect was booked into San Diego County jail where he is facing eight charges of armed robbery and is being held on $800,000 bail.
